What is Krillion?

Krillion is a browser-based daily word and category game called The Daily Dive. Everyone receives the same seven daily prompts. Instead of guessing a hidden word, you name one thing that answers the prompt before its timer expires. A valid but less common answer earns more points than an obvious one.

The game turns that score into an underwater journey. Each point sinks you ten metres; the official instructions describe 700 points as reaching the trench. Your challenge is to recall a fitting answer quickly, while considering what other players might also pick. TileHive does not calculate Krillion answer scores or supply today's answers.

How to play Krillion

  1. Open krillion.io and select Begin Descent for the daily game.
  2. Read the category prompt. You have 25 seconds to name one thing that belongs to it.
  3. Type your answer and submit it with the game's Dive button before time runs out.
  4. Read the feedback, then continue through the seven prompts.
  5. Review your final score and depth. Return for the next daily set, or use the official Unlimited mode for more play.

How Krillion scores answers

According to the official FAQ, some prompts use a familiarity database measuring how often words or names appear in reading and writing. Others combine LLM assistance with human review. Do not interpret rarity as simply a live count of today's submitted answers.

The top Krillion gem is not selected by rarity alone: the creator also considers how fun and satisfying an answer is. An obscure answer therefore does not guarantee the gem.

Depth is a visual expression of points, not a separate ranking calculated by TileHive. We do not publish a probability table or promise that a particular answer will earn a fixed score. The original game is the source of truth for answer acceptance and scoring.

Useful habits for timed prompts

  • Read the whole category before typing. A specific prompt can exclude a broad answer.
  • Recall a few genuine examples, then choose a less obvious one you are confident fits.
  • Leave time to submit. An ambitious answer is no help if the clock expires first.
  • Use the official Unlimited mode to become comfortable with the pace before your next daily dive.

A practice example: fit before rarity

These are invented teaching prompts, not official Krillion questions or answer lists. They demonstrate a way to check your thinking, not a way to predict points.

  • Imagine the prompt is "Name a film." A film title fits the requested type; the name of its lead actor does not. Check the category before trying to find a less familiar choice.
  • Now imagine it asks for "A film released in the 1990s." A title alone is not enough: you also need confidence about its release decade. An unfamiliar film whose date you cannot recall is a gamble, not an automatic improvement.
  • Decide before the timer wins. If your first idea fits but a second one is uncertain, weigh that uncertainty against the time left. Submit a considered answer rather than spending the whole round searching for an imagined perfect one.

This is TileHive's suggested approach, not a tested high-score formula. Only the official game can confirm whether it accepts a particular answer and how it scores it.

More than today's dive

Krillion already provides ways to keep playing on its own site. Its homepage links to an Archive, Themed Packs and Unlimited. For open-ended practice, use the official Unlimited mode. These are official game destinations, not separate games hosted by TileHive. Availability and access requirements may change on the original website.

You can play without an account. The official privacy notice explains that guest progress stays in browser storage; clearing site data removes those local records. Google sign-in is optional for progress sync. Guest access does not mean every pack or unlock is free.

Krillion FAQ

What does "too clever" mean in Krillion?

The creator uses this label for a supposedly obscure choice that is actually a familiar go-to answer. Trying to be unusual does not necessarily make a choice rare.

How much time do I have for each answer?

The official daily instructions give you 25 seconds per prompt. Read, type and submit before the clock expires.

Why do some answers score more than others?

The scoring method depends on the prompt. See the explanation above for familiarity data, human review and the gem exception. TileHive does not calculate answer scores.

Is there an unlimited Krillion mode?

Yes. The official homepage links to Unlimited, alongside Archive and Themed Packs. Follow its Unlimited link for further play on krillion.io.

Can I play Krillion inside TileHive?

No. The official website does not allow cross-site embedding. Use Play on krillion.io to open the original game in a new tab; the preview here is only a screenshot.

Why was my valid answer not listed?

The creator acknowledges that curated answer sets can miss valid entries. A missing answer is not, by itself, proof that your fact was wrong.
