How to play Cutle
- Inspect the shape in the game above, or open the official site separately.
- Click or touch, then drag a cutting line across it. Any angle is allowed.
- Aim for 50:50. A split of 48:52 or closer counts as a win.
- Take care with your first cut: the game distinguishes the first score.
Think about area, not just the middle
A line through the midpoint of a shape's width does not necessarily divide its area equally. Imagine a broad body with a thin extension on one side: the extension changes the outline much more than it changes the amount of filled space. Compare the filled regions on both sides of your proposed line, rather than the distances to the outer edges.
- Look for symmetry. A true symmetry axis divides a shape into equal areas; an outline that merely looks balanced may not.
- Mentally split a complicated outline into simpler blocks. Compare their combined areas, not how many blocks are on each side.
- Decide where the line should go before dragging. Keep the intended angle steady during the gesture.
Reading a ratio
In a teaching example, a 49:51 split has a smaller imbalance than 45:55: the two shares differ by two percentage points instead of ten. Equal areas do not require identical outlines. These examples explain ratios; they are not recorded player scores or a prediction of today's best cut.

Cutle FAQ
Where can I play Cutle?
Play in the embedded official game above. Use Open official site if it does not load or if you need to manage statistics and saved progress directly on Pfiffel's website.
Do I need an exact 50:50 cut to win?
No. The official instructions accept 48:52 or a more even split.
When does the next shape arrive?
The official reset is 00:00 UTC each day. That is not necessarily midnight in your local time zone.
Can I cut diagonally or use a phone?
The instructions support cuts at any angle using either a mouse or touch.
Does a cut through the visual centre always work?
No. The goal is equal area, not equal width. Uneven outlines can place more area on one side of their apparent centre.
What if the embedded game is blank or my progress is missing?
Open the official site using the link beside the game. Third-party loading and browser storage restrictions can affect embedded play; progress may not carry between the embedded view and the direct website. TileHive cannot repair or sync official scores.
